Ingredients for 4 servings

Serrano Simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 serrano peppers, with seeds

Mango Margarita

  • ½ ripe mango, cubed
  • 3 oz fresh orange juice
  • 3 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz silver tequila
  • 2 oz serrano simple syrup

Preparation

  1. Prepare the Serrano Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Add the serrano peppers with seeds.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain out the serrano peppers and transfer the syrup to a container. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  4. Make the Mango Margarita: In a blender, combine the cubed mango, fresh orange juice, and fresh lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  5. In a cocktail shaker, add the mango puree, tequila, serrano simple syrup, and ice. Shake until well combined.
  6. Rim two cocktail glasses with chamoy, then immediately dip them in Tajín. Add 1 large ice cube to the glass. Pour in the margarita mixture.
  7. Garnish with mango cubes dipped in Tajín and a slice of serrano.
  8. Enjoy!
