Spicy Mango Margarita (Fire Sign)

Ingredients for 4 servings
Serrano Simple syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 serrano peppers, with seeds
Mango Margarita
- ½ ripe mango, cubed
- 3 oz fresh orange juice
- 3 oz fresh lime juice
- 4 oz silver tequila
- 2 oz serrano simple syrup
Preparation
- Prepare the Serrano Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Add the serrano peppers with seeds.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain out the serrano peppers and transfer the syrup to a container. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- Make the Mango Margarita: In a blender, combine the cubed mango, fresh orange juice, and fresh lime juice. Blend until smooth.
- In a cocktail shaker, add the mango puree, tequila, serrano simple syrup, and ice. Shake until well combined.
- Rim two cocktail glasses with chamoy, then immediately dip them in Tajín. Add 1 large ice cube to the glass. Pour in the margarita mixture.
- Garnish with mango cubes dipped in Tajín and a slice of serrano.
