BREAKING: President Biden takes decisive action against China by issuing historic restrictions on the export of semiconductor chips and equipment to that country — striking a powerful blow for the American people.

The new rules place more than 100 Chinese chipmaking tool manufacturers on a restricted trade list, meaning that American companies can no longer send them equipment without explicit permission.

On top of that, this move blocks the sale of powerful “high-bandwidth memory” chips that are crucial for artificial intelligence training, as well as software tools.

Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo explained that the restrictions will help “impair” China’s “ability to indigenize the production of advanced technologies that pose a risk to our national security.”

“As technology evolves, and our adversaries seek new ways to evade restrictions, we will continue to work with our allies and partners to proactively and aggressively safeguard our world-leading technologies and know-how so they aren’t used to undermine our national security,” stated White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.

Yet again we see that Democrats are the only ones willing to take real steps towards paving a future for the United States by curbing the capabilities of our adversaries abroad.
